SHORT OVERALL REVIEW ON KOTE

Tough Shonen (Kote) offers great protection and better function. Kote is light weight and short kotebuton increase mobility and reduces hitting area for the opponent. However, the thick kotebuton and the large diamond shape stitching creates bumps to absorb blows and offer great protection. It is also structurally strong. Thick Shikage (deer fur) filling on the kotegashira (kote head) near the joints makes it easy to use and gives good protection. The wrist and finger have adequate stuffing to ensure protection. The overall design shows it is best for practice and competition. It is a good Kote for kids and teenager beginning their kendo journey and using it for practice or for competitive reason. It also good as primary set.

However, the short kotebuton and the shikage stuffing near the finger tips might require the user to be careful when practicing in mix training session with adult beginners.
